Sharp HT-SB300

$299.00 Released April, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Simple to install - only a few connections need to be made. Integrates well with Sharp's own Aquos HDTV lineup. Solid highs and mids - a step-up from integrated TV speakers.

The Cons:Simulates 5.1 surround sound - really only 2.1 channel output. Relatively poor bass response - really needs a separate subwoofer. Included stand raises the unit too high - interferes with the remote control receiver.

The Sharp HT-SB200 is a slim, stylish, and wall-mountable 2.1 channel sound bar designed to simulate surround sound without the added bulk and cost of a full blown home audio theater system. An upgrade from the Sharp HT-SB200, the Sharp HT-SB300 adds digital decoding with DTS, Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II decoder, Dolby Virtual Speakers, Advanced Virtual Speaker technology, and a subwoofer output jack as well.

In all other ways, however, the HT-SB300 is just like its predecessor, For instance, built for at-home use, the HT-S3200 features left and right integrated speakers (Dolby Virtual Speakers), an integrated subwoofer, and adjustable bass, treble, and sub-level options for a truly unique surround sound experience. In addition, the HT-SB300 combines advanced HDSS (high-definition sound standard) sound technology with SRS WOW HD to provide a more natural and realistic listening experience with a deeper, more natural bass response. The HT-SB300 also sports a slim remote control, a programmed equalizer, an auto on/off button, dual audio inputs, right and left RCA jacks, and a 3.5mm sub min-jack for an additional audio source such as an MP3 player. The Sharp HT-SB300 retails for $299.99 (versus $249.99) and comes with a 1 year limited warranty.
