Released October, 2001
The HTS8100/37 is found in Philips' Soundbar line--a home theater package designed to emulate surround-sound but from a single set of speakers. This "Ambisound" technology splits 5.1 surround signals into the single speaker set, which uses directional placement to accoustically mimic the effects of a discreet five-channel surround system, complete with an included subwoofer.
