The Onkyo DS-A3 is a Remote Interactive Dock designed for transferring audio/video iPod signals to a compatible device via component cables. It supports video up to 480i and 576i for the iPod touch, and 480p and 576p for the iPod Nano (3rd, 4th) & Classic.

At its core is Remote Interactivity, which allows all iPod functions to be viewed on the component device, and then controlled via the DS-A3’s Dedicated Remote Control. Note also that the dock can also be used to view photos in a slide show. Lastly, the Onkyo DS-A3 continually charges the connected iPod.
Additional Information
The Onkyo DS-A3 is a step up from the Onkyo DS-A2X in that it trades its predecessor’s composite outputs for a component output instead—this allows for greater quality and reliability for video playback.
