I like the 9950, but can't seem to get rid of the closed captions. I'm not deaf and don't want it. How do I do it?

#digital_stream_dtx9950 Piece of junk, stopped working after about 3 months of use. Does not turn on. I thought I would be proactive and purchase long in advance of the transition and now this box is out of warranty. Buyers beware.
