This is a digitally crafted audio system that gives the impression of multiple speakers in the room and is also not dependent on placing the speaker in a special place for maximum effect. BDSS, or Balanced Dual Surround System speaker design has two connection points between the base of the speaker cone and the speaker itself, as opposed to the typical one connection. This delivers a more articulate sound and allows the speakers better power handling capabilities and longer life. The little brother to this model is the 40" SSA-42, which is made for TV's 42" or less. Both come with a wall mounting bracket(ceiling mounting is not recommended) and are available in polished silver and glossed black finish. A 5.1 or greater receiver is required to operate a multi-channel speaker like this, and the addition of a subwoofer for the sixth '.1' channel is also very beneficial. Considering the price, these are of high audio quality which should appeal to the movie watcher who demands top audio performance.
